Let me sum it up: Ya go places, AKA NOT ME, and get rips and then burn them in Disc Juggler. What the hell is disc juggler you say? Its the standard program for burning DC rip games. You can do some conversion shit if your burner sux and it cannot use DJ, but thats a good fist full of drama. Luckily for any new kids most new burners work. I recently got some jankyass Lite-On 16x OEM cause it was cheap, but the thing fukn r0x, 0 coasters so far. I'm gonna guess that any burner with burn proof technology is probably a safe buy. Usually the most respected burners are Plextor, but they a lil pricey and yamaha is pretty good too. Media wise it shouldn't be a big deal. From my experience PNY sux ass, but other people have used them fine. Personally I use Kingston hypermedia cdrs from www.outpost.com They are 80min, cheap, and work! There are probably better deals if you dig hard enough, but I'm stickn with what i know. LETS GET STARTED: So first you need to get some rips, aka processed DC games. No you can't do any old skool fukn rent a game and burn it type shit. Why you may ask? Goto http://www.mirc.com/ And get that, its probably a lil wacky if ya never used it, get someone else to help ehe basically check options that allow identd and ya should be set if ya don't have a firewall. Reccomended trading servers are efnet, undernet, and you can probably get shit from dalnet But they known to be a big sak o lamerz. Now ya join channels like #dreamcast #dcisos #dciso #dcwarez #dcdistro shit like that ya gotta hunt around a lil. If you want results your gonna need to trade. K Got a Game now that u got it...what the hell u do? : Hopefully by now you've figured out DC rips are around 400 megish on average (THEY VARY THOUGH) and come in multidisk rar format. Welp, the files will be rar so you'll need to unrar them. Get this uncompressing program here - WH00T! If u didn't already have that program...take a pause and feel great shame...:), next uncompress to a temp dir If it doesn't uncompress properly one of your disks is fucked, look to see which disk has problems and repair or get it again A checker for the rars is winsfv, thats why u get a sfv file with the rars, get the program here - WH00T!! Now ya need to burn with funky Fresh Disc Juggler Get disk juggler 3.5 at: http://www.padus.com/free.htm and then ask around for the crack or full version, AKA NOT ME! Until you get the crack DJ will burn at 1x. So now we get to see if DJ even works with your jankyass burner. Open up DJ, do CD Image to recorder. Now click on the Source icon and browse to the cdi file. Then click Start. Start wont be able to be pressed until you load a cdi file source. WHAT ABOUT THE SETTINGS YOU SAY? All the Settings are built into the cdi file, so luckily if u fuck up all the settings like mode / block / TOC it doesn't matter. ASPI issues: If ya just installed win2k or maybe have old stuff on win98 you may need to update your aspi. They have some sort of /<-rad hardware and prepare the games so they work on our gimpy consumer cd-r's Here's some general info: quazi FAQ -Yes, ripped(utopian released) Dreamcast games DO fit on normal CD-Rs (74min)...also higher if that all u got -Boot cd lets u play all utopia releases and most imports -No, you cannot do a GD-Rom -> CD-R direct copy -No, you cannot rip your own image files -No, not all burners work with Disc Juggler but if your burner isn't supported, it probably sux anyway -The Gameshark CDX is a consumer Dreamcast peripheral that lets you play Dreamcast games with cheats. To burn these puppies u gonna need cdrwin or fireburner. *Get fireburner here: WH00T! *Get cdrwin here: WH00T! ..go to download area DOA2 specific info: As stated in utopia nfo file..the cue file needs to be edited, open the cue file with somethn like notepad.exe, then delete ONLY G:\ from line: FILE "G:\DEAD2.BIN" BINARY then save When ya burn...i think default settings should work ok (ehe still researching) In fireburner click visual cue burner and then right click "load tracks from .cue" browse for it to yer temp dir then choose to burn. Personally i use fireburner...and do track at once burning with only end session on(checked).
